As summer approaches, we’re reminded of the opportunities it brings—not just for rest and nice vacations, but for renewal. One of the most powerful ways we see God move in the lives of our young people each year is through summer camp.
Camp isn’t just a getaway. It’s a sacred space where students can unplug from the noise of the world and tune into the voice of God. It’s a time for building community, deepening faith, and discovering who they are in Christ.
One student who attended camp last year shared this powerful testimony:
"Walking into camp this year, I had no expectations... but throughout these past few days, I really got closer to God each and every single day. Before camp, my relationship with God was starting to fall off more than I realized... but something about the second session made me realize God is always with me no matter where I am. I cried and cried during worship and prayer... something Pastor Hannah said really stuck with me: 'Everything that I have belongs to Him because He gave it to me, He created me, and He loves me.' That changed everything. I surrendered myself to Him that night. Then the song 'Firm Foundation' started playing... and it brought peace to my heart like never before. I left camp knowing my faith had been renewed, and I want to carry that into every part of my life—not just at camp. I had the best week of my life.”
This is just one story among many. Over the course of just a few days, students are immersed in worship, teaching, prayer, and moments of joy that stick with them for a lifetime. They build real friendships. They hear God's voice. They come home changed.
Here’s what camp can offer our students:
- Opportunities for personal encounters with God through worship, prayer, guided reflections and learning spiritual practices
- Unforgettable memories of deep joy, alongside friends and adult mentors who are for them
- Time and space to reconnect with God as Creator – the One who knows us and loves us above all else
In a world full of noise and distractions, summer camp provides a holy pause—a chance for students to see God more clearly and walk more closely with Him.
We encourage every family in our church to prayerfully consider sending their student to camp this year. And please join us in praying for the hundreds of students who will attend summer camp this year.
