One Mission Under One Roof
Living out Matthew 25 at Vineyard Community Center
Our church family is celebrating a new chapter for our Vineyard Columbus Food Pantry! Just last week, the first outreach was held at our OR the Westerville Campus, operating temporarily out of the north side of the building. This marks the beginning of an exciting journey toward a permanent home for our pantry at Westerville Campus.
In the year ahead, the pantry will be relocated to the first floor of the Community Center at Westerville Campus. This redesigned space will include a welcoming grocery-store-style shopping area, and expanded storage to meet growing needs.
When we at Vineyard first announced the move, the plan was to retrofit the former bookstore into the pantry. But after updated design and cost studies, we discovered a better option: reconfiguring existing space within the Community Center itself. Currently the former bookstore is being used on weekends as a space to serve coffee, and can be reimagined for continued hospitality and connection, as well as for future creative ministry opportunities.
What makes this especially exciting is that the Community Center already houses Vineyard’s wraparound services— Free Health Clinics, Value Life, Immigration Counseling Services, English as a Second Language classes, and more. With the addition of the pantry, everything will be under one roof. Together, these ministries will create an even stronger hub of hope, making it easier for our neighbors to access care, resources, and community in one place.
This is more than a building project—it’s part of God’s ongoing story of compassion through His people. As Jesus reminds us in Matthew 25, when we feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, and care for the sick, we are serving Him. Every time we reach out through the food pantry, Value Life, Immigration Counseling, or ESL, we are stepping into this call—meeting practical needs and encountering Jesus in the lives of our neighbors. Staff and volunteers at Vineyard Community Center remain committed to be best friends with our city, one life at a time. This new space allows us to live that mission more fully, with all of our services united under one roof, welcoming more neighbors, and sharing God’s love in tangible ways.
Completion of construction is expected by fall 2026—just in time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Vineyard Community Center! Until then, our pantry continues to serve families each week in its temporary Westerville home. And you don’t have to wait to get involved: volunteers are needed now. Please join in praying for the transition ahead—for construction details, for smooth adjustments for our teams, for God to lead you to opportunities to serve, and most importantly, for the many neighbors who will walk through our doors and encounter the love of Jesus in practical, life-giving ways.
