Nikki Mills, Executive Director, Vineyard Community Center
Nikki Mills has been part of the Vineyard Columbus family since 2007, when she made a life-changing commitment to follow Jesus and was baptized at the church. What began as finding a church home soon became a calling to ministry and community impact.
Nikki joined the staff team in January 2008 as a coordinator with Vineyard Community Center’s after-school and summer programs. Over the years, she has served in a variety of leadership roles and in summer 2025 became the Executive Director of Vineyard Community Center. Along the way, she earned a Master of Public Administration from Ohio University, further equipping her to lead nonprofit and community-based initiatives.
She is deeply passionate about helping the church live out its call to love and serve neighbors, drawing particular inspiration from Matthew 25:35–36 and Micah 6:8. Nikki considers it a privilege to support and serve the teams, volunteers, and partners who care for the practical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals and families throughout Central Ohio.
Outside of work, Nikki enjoys baking, spending time with friends, and treasures her role as an aunt. She is grateful to have found a church home at Vineyard Columbus and looks forward to continuing to serve alongside the church community in the years ahead.
Joshua Miller, Associate Pastor of Westerville Campus
Joshua Miller is a pastor, songwriter, vocalist, musician, and worship leader. With a heart for worship and a gift for leadership, Joshua brings both creativity and strategic insight into his role.
He is the founder of Heaven and Earth, a worship collective composed of worship leaders, vocalists, musicians, and writers from within the Vineyard Columbus community. The collective exists to cultivate authentic worship and foster collaboration among artists and leaders.
Joshua also leads One City Worship, a city-wide worship experience that gathers hundreds of churches annually for a unified night of worship. This event brings together leaders from across denominations to lay aside titles and preferences in order to lift up the name of Jesus and promote unity in the Church throughout Columbus.
Joshua has been featured in partnership with Vineyard Worship and Integrity Music, contributing to several widely recognized worship projects. His work includes songs such as “Eternal Light,” “This Joy,” “Cherry Blossoms,” “You’re Carrying Me,” “Behold,” and “Roll Like a River.” These songs reflect his heart for the Church and his passion for creating worship that is both spiritually grounded and artistically rich.
In addition to his worship leadership, Joshua’s experience as both a Worship and Executive Pastor, has equipped him to build systems, develop teams, and lead across multiple areas of church ministry. He is passionate about helping people connect with God through worship, teaching, and leadership development in the local church.
Joshua is married to Alicia, a licensed clinical counselor, and together they are raising three energetic, strong, and beautiful daughters—along with their two dogs.
Shawn Steward, Executive Director of People and Operations
Shawn joined our staff in June 2019 and he currently serves on the Senior Leadership Team as the Executive Director of People & Operations. He began attending through our young adult community in 2012 based on a New Year's resolution, which led to him recommitting his life to the Lord and becoming a member of the church. Shawn then became a committed leader in our high school ministry and participated in multiple short-term mission trips to the Middle East before moving to New York City where he had the opportunity to be part of a Vineyard church plant.
Prior to joining our staff, Shawn spent 10 years working in the financial services industry, holding various leadership roles within home lending, risk management, talent development and diversity & inclusion. He earned his Bachelor and Master of Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University, where he was also a member of the men's basketball team.
Shawn believes his calling is to lead diligently (Romans 12:8) and with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience (Colossians 3:12). He sees his vocation as an opportunity to participate in the creative and redemptive work of God in the world.
You can typically find Shawn ducking through doorways, getting hyped about the most recent NBA highlights, (not so) casually sliding a story about his time living in Brooklyn into a conversation, or adoring his wife, Amy, and their two children.
Mailin Young, Head of Staff
Mailin is a second-generation Chinese American originally from Northern CA and is a graduate of UCLA and Fuller Theological Seminary. She came to faith through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at UCLA in 1993 and served in campus ministry for 25 years. After helping to plant a new campus ministry in urban Los Angeles, she and her husband moved to Turkey to lead cross-cultural leadership programs for nine years. Both of their sons were born in Izmir, Turkey. The family returned to the USA in 2014 for her husband to pursue PhD studies at the OSU, and they began worshipping at the Sawmill campus.
In 2014 she received her certification as a Gallup Strengths Coach. She is passionate about seeing individuals and organizations lead out of the fullness of who God created them to be. Mailin finds fulfillment and immense joy empowering individuals, building teams, and creating strengths-based organizations. It is a great privilege to help teams untangle complex problems and processes by accessing their God-given talents. When that happens, the church truly becomes a place where “everyone gets to play!” Formerly, she brought this passion to her roles with InterVarsity, serving as the National Director of Leadership Development, and later, as Director of Talent Management. Her responsibilities included focusing on emerging leader programs and strengthening InterVarsity's "leadership development pipeline" while doing similar work with sister ministries in Europe.
As Head of Staff, her job is to help bring alignment – focusing staff on church-wide goals and creating systems that facilitate communication between departments. She acts as a bridge between Senior Pastor(s) and staff, between vision and strategy, between ideas and implementation.
For fun, Mailin loves exploring new cities, savoring dishes at ethnic restaurants, playing pickleball, skiing, and scuba diving.
