Accessibility Inclusion Ministry (AIM) Day Services: One Year of God’s Faithfulness
As AIM Day Services celebrates its first anniversary, my heart is overflowing with gratitude for all that God has done. When this program was just a dream, I spent many quiet hours listening to “New Wine”—a song that became a prayer of surrender and hope. In those early days, I asked God to do something new in me and through AIM Day Services. He has answered that prayer in ways more beautiful and powerful than I could have imagined.
Over this past year, I have watched AIM Day Services become a place ofthe most intense and transformational discipleship for people affected by disabilities that I have ever witnessed. Day by day, we’ve seen lives touched in profound ways—transformations that only God can orchestrate, salvations that fill us with awe, and the unmistakable fruit of the Spirit taking root and flourishing in our participants. It has been a front-row seat to God’s heart for His children and His power to bring about deep, lasting change.
This program has also become a wellspring of joy. Our participants have become an integral part of our church staff, stepping into roles of service with willingness, passion, and such genuine delight. Their presence has been a breath of fresh air in what has otherwise been a challenging year—an injection of pure JOY that lifts the atmosphere and reminds us of the beauty of God’s kingdom lived out among us.
I am also deeply grateful for our Vineyard Columbus church family, whose“yes” made this program possible. God’s timing has been nothing short of impeccable. The birth of this program in such a challenging year was no coincidence, but a divine appointment—confirmed again and again through the gracious giving that sustained us and the countless prayers lifted on our behalf. Your partnership has been a living reminder that God builds His kingdom through the faithfulness of His people. A special thank you to the incredible AIM Day Services team, made up of Sherry Chapin, Freddie Losambe, and Naomi Taylor. These three have tirelessly loved and supported each participant in ways that can’t be measured, and the fruit is eternal.
The road to this first year has not been easy. Organizationally, we have faced challenges that stretched our faith and tested our perseverance. At times, I questioned God’s timing, and I even wondered if this little program would be able to stay afloat. But through every obstacle, God has proven Himself faithful. He took the seeds of a vision—planted in prayer and watered by perseverance—and brought forth something vibrant, life-giving, and strong.
Today, AIM Day Services is thriving and fruitful. We are watching lives change before our eyes: joy being restored, purpose renewed, and community strengthened. What began as a simple dream to serve individuals affected by disability has become a program that stands as a testimony of God’s grace and provision. Currently, we have a full program and have just added a waiting list. We are working to grow! In the coming years we hope to add staff, space, transportation, and more. We are humbly waiting on God to help us discern our next steps, and we know from this last year that He can be trusted with the small and big things.
As we move into this second year, my prayer remains the same: that God would continue to do something new—something beyond our expectations—in and through every person connected to AIM.
