Global Engagement
by Ximena Holle, Global Missions Pastor
Dear Church Family,
As we at Vineyard Columbus continue to focus on serving our local community, we are also reminded that our God is bigger than Columbus. Because of your tithes and offerings, the good news of Jesus is being shared around the world, especially among those who have had the least opportunity to hear who Jesus is and what it truly means to follow Him.
For many people globally, their understanding of Christianity is shaped not by real relationships with followers of Jesus, but by media, movies, and influencers. Because of this, Jesus’ call to go “to the ends of the earth” is just as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago.
For the past nine years, I have served in our ESL ministry. My service is founded on two simple objectives: to build relationships with people who have had little exposure to followers of Jesus, and to share my faith in an organic way. I attempt to hold the tension between showing respect and providing boldness when needed. I have transitioned my ESL service to now having the privilege of serving our global missionaries. Today, brothers and sisters from our church are sharing the hope of the gospel among people with minimal access to Jesus, including vulnerable communities like those who live along the Amazon River in Brazil.
Call to Action
- Join us on January 21 @ 7pm at the Pickerington Campus to connect, learn, pray, and be encouraged by what God is doing globally. (It won’t be boring, and we’ll start and end on time!)
- Come hear Steve and Elba Dolan, who have faithfully served for many years in Brazil, and have witnessed the Kingdom of God taking hold.
- Bring a friend, bring your children of all ages, and come ready to listen, learn, pray, and enjoy international food together. Doors will open at 6:30pm for snacks and time to connect with others.
My hope is that, as a church, we would stay engaged learning, praying, and stepping into what God is doing around the world.
We hope to see you there!
Ximena
