We are excited to expand our pastoral staff by investing in four key roles that will continue to set us up to be the church we believe God is calling us to be in the coming years. These four roles are full-time, salaried positions, with access to a generous benefit package. We are looking for a Students Pastor to join the team reaching our middle and high school students, a Next Steps Pastor to participate in the development of building and engaging our community in our discipleship processes, a Campus Launch Pastor to prepare to launch a new campus in January 2026, and a Campus Pastor to lead our Westerville Campus, our original and largest campus that reaches over 2,500 in person on Sundays and another 2,500 through our weekly online broadcast.

Our aim is to have individuals starting in these roles by September 9, 2024 so together they can begin engaging in an intentional 12-month development program that will focus on mentoring in Vineyard leadership and theology, personal and spiritual formation, and exposure to Vineyard Columbus’ extensive array of ministries – while leading pastorally in their new roles. Keep scrolling to learn more about the four roles we are targeting (including how to apply), our church and benefits for our staff. Vineyard Columbus is an at-will employer and the candidates selected for these roles are not guaranteed placement into a ministry position with Vineyard Columbus at the conclusion of the 12-month development program.

Aside from regular weekend services at our six campuses across Central Ohio, our Westerville Campus is also home to our Vineyard Community Center that offers an Early Childhood Center, After-School and Summer Programs, Middle and High School Life Readiness, Sports and Exercise Programs, free Health Clinics, a free Legal Clinic, Immigration Counseling Services, ESL classes and more.

MORE ABOUT OUR CHURCH:

Our staff

Vineyard Columbus is a staff-led church, with a system of accountability for senior leadership through a church council. Our senior pastors, Eric and Julia Pickerill, lead with a Coordinating Team that consists of staff pastors and directors.

Our staff is made up of over 180 employees (around 55% full-time) from all different ages and backgrounds and on any given day you’ll find them serving in our Mobile Food Pantry, running payroll, caring for or securing our buildings, coordinating discipleship events, in a weekly tactical meeting, teaching in a classroom, meeting with and training volunteers, preparing for the coming weekend service across one of our six campuses across Central Ohio, or engaged in a number of other ways they each serve to carry out the mission of Vineyard Columbus.

Who we are looking for

Westerville Campus Pastor

Our church staff is in the midst of a transformation as we develop both a central ministry team that will serve all of our campuses, as well as a Westerville team that will focus their energy on pastoring our largest congregation. As we continue this transformation into a "church of campuses" we want to retain intentional focus on our Westerville campus. The Westerville Campus Pastor role is a new role that will bring leadership to our Westerville team and, along with our senior pastors, be part of our Westerville Campus preaching team.

Campus Launch Pastoral Resident

We are looking for someone who works well in a team environment, has an established track record of ministry and leadership, and feels called to be the point leader of a Vineyard Columbus campus as we discern launching a new campus on the Southwest side of Central Ohio.

VC Students Pastoral Resident

Vineyard Columbus is on a mission to continue investing in the next generation. Our VC Students team is looking for a Pastoral Resident who will work with students in grades 6-12 and be responsible for leading weekly services, writing curriculum, planning big events, building leadership teams, and occasionally preach.

Next Steps Pastoral Resident

We are hiring a Next Steps Pastor to join our team with the goal of getting our congregation to grow as disciples by taking their next step to connect with God, community, and their purpose. This position will work closely with the Congregant Care Manager and Small Groups Pastor to research best practices, strategies, and systems to ensure congregants are responded to, personally connected with, and helped along their journey of discipleship.

Pastoral Development

The pastors in these roles will have the opportunity to engage in an intentional 12-month development program where they will focus on leadership, theology, and personal & spiritual formation. They will spend time weekly with our Founding Pastor, Rich Nathan, to dialogue about leadership topics, get mentored in preaching and discuss a variety of key theological issues. They will also participate in courses and groups focused on building their souls, as well as systems for healthy and sustainable rhythms in ministry and relationships.

We offer

Vineyard Columbus values hard work, sustainable rhythms, and the pursuit of healthy and well-balanced lives. Our staff are supported in their ministry by a great team environment and generous benefits, including:

  • Low-cost medical, dental, vision and insurance available, including an HSA plan with employer contributions
  • Paid time off for personal, sick, and parental leave
  • Housing Allowance
  • Equivalent of 13 days off per calendar year for holidays and staff refresh days

  • Gym membership or equivalent equipment subsidy
  • Tuition Reimbursement and Professional development benefits
  • Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage
