Community Outreach: Food Pantry Volunteers
We would love volunteers to help stock shelves, prepare the food orders, help serve breakfast, carry bags to cars for clients and offer to pray for them. If you love to greet people we would also love some hospitality volunteers to talk with people as they are eating breakfast and waiting for their orders, to see if we might provide any other assistance and invite them to church! Children 8+ are welcome with their parents.
We have two food pantries at 181 E. 5th Avenue in the short north area, and 4664 Cleveland Ave. about 6 blocks north of Morse Rd. Volunteers should plan to arrive at either pantry by 8:15am and stay until noon if possible. We do schedule groups of 10-15 for 5th Avenue pantry but we do not schedule groups for our Northside pantry. You can just come by at this location. If you want to volunteer for either, you need to contact Rhodie for a more detailed information sheet about parking, carpooling, etc. Let her know which location you'd like to serve or if you have any other questions. We also love extra help for our seasonal free Farmer's Market at 181 E 5th Ave. from April through October. Please contact Rhodie to schedule a group to help with the market.
