We like to say in Urban Ministry that we, "build a bridge of friendship and let Jesus walk over it." God cares deeply about people in our community and He hears the cry of those who are hurting. He uses ordinary people to respond. With thirteen direct service ministries such as our health clinics, food pantries, and nursing home visits, there are many opportunities to serve. Our dedicated volunteer leadership and regular volunteers bring hundreds of men, women and children love, mercy and social justice in the name of Jesus each week. Small groups, individuals and families are all welcome to participate and share the blessings of ministering with the poor.

Urban Ministry would like to thank Vineyard Columbus Church for donating warm winter items, personal care items and financial donations that filled our Christmas Gift Bags. With your generosity we filled 85 backpacks for the Homeless Camps; 65 backpacks for Rebecca's Place women's shelter; 145 gift bags forBryden Nursing home, over 2200 donated items for the YWCA Family Shelter and hundreds of personal care items for Friends of the Homeless. We have an abundance of extras: 69 backpacks, 92 flashlights, 87 winter hats, 102 white and black socks, 86 winter gloves, 102 sweatshirts and zippered jackets and 178 thermal pieces to pass out at our on-going outreaches this winter. We were able to do all of this without spending any money from our budget! Thank you for reflecting the love of Jesus and the heart of God to our city.
