How do I find care and healing at Vineyard Columbus?

Care and Healing
Many times in life we find ourselves experiencing emotional, spiritual, or physical upheaval. Vineyard founder, John Wimber, would often say, "The church is a hospital, a family, an army and a school." As the body of Christ, Vineyard Columbus purposefully co-labors with Jesus as a hospital, tending to broken places by coming alongside people to bring Jesus' care and healing love. Because of this, we are intentional about encouraging everyone to be involved in a small group so that when (not if) they face a difficult life situation; they will have the love, care and prayer support of a community to come alongside them with the love of Jesus. If you find yourself struggling in any way, this brochure will tell you what help Vineyard Columbus has to offer (in addition to our small groups) and how to find the help you need.

Recovery & Support Groups
Vineyard Columbus offers many support and recovery groups. Support groups are for people with similar needs who meet together in a home or at the church for the purpose of forming a safe community as a place to receive Christ centered support, encouragement and prayer. Recovery groups are for people with a specific kind of struggle who meet together at the church with the purpose of helping each other work this through. In addition to prayer, support and encouragement, many of our groups work together towards the goal of recovery using a biblically based curriculum.

A current listing of all recovery & support groups can be found at www.vineyardolumbus.org or by picking up the Recovery/Support brochure in the church lobby.

Life on Life (Lay-Counseling/ Spiritual Mentoring)
Vineyard Church of Columbus has a team of lay-counselors and spiritual mentors who have a heart-felt desire to reach out and walk alongside those who are hurting spiritually or experiencing grief, a painful life situation, an addiction, etc. Our lay-counselors and spiritual mentors receive training to bring God's healing love to the suffering. Many people, with Christ's help, have overcome trials in their lives.

If you are a member or regular attendee and would like to meet with a lay counselor or spiritual mentor, please fill out an application found at the info counter, at www.vineyardcolumbus.org under or by contacting the church at 890-0000.

Professional Counseling Center
Vineyard Counseling Center was established as a ministry of Vineyard Church of Columbus for those who need the services of a clinically trained counselor, yet desire a biblically based approach to resolving problems and concerns. As an extension of pastoral care, our goal is to help people achieve wholeness in all aspects of their lives. We believe this is accomplished by helping people break free from areas of sin thereby releasing God's healing power to work on their behalf.

For more information on the professional counselors, their fees, availability, or to make an appointment contact the church at 890-0000.

Soaking Prayer Ministry
God does heal and deliver today. He is healing the sick and injured whether physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. Sometimes He heals people quickly through prayer but often, healing comes slowly through many prayer sessions - that is, there is a need to be "soaked" in prayer.

  • Open Healing Service.
  • Scheduled Soaking Prayer sessions.
  • Holy Spirit Empowerment Nights

This service is open to everyone and is held twice a month usually on the second and fourth Saturday beginning at 9am. Each person will be prayed for by trained soaking prayer members throughout the session. This is an opportunity to be in the Lord's powerful presence for two hours. No appointment is needed and all are welcome.

Members and regular attenders may submit an application for regular soaking prayer sessions. For more information check out the web site (www.vineyardcolumbus.org) or pick up an application at the information counter.

Once a month, typically on the second Friday at 7:30 pm, we gather together at the church to worship God and seek the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Check the MIX for more information.
